The
Sonoma County Arts Council and Wells Fargo
Center had a Day
With the Arts Festival
AUGUST 28, and
the
Center for
the Creative Arts Therapies had
a booth. We painted faces and did our
project: It's GRAPE to belong and still
BE ME.
The place was packed with visual artists,
woodworkers, dancers, musicians, clowns,
and many arts projects to do. CCAT was
treated to Pomo Indian Dancers right next
to our booth. Their dancing and their
outfits, hand carved abalone shells, furs,
beads, feathers and leather were amazing.
We learned a lot!
The fair was put together
on short notice and this is the FIRST
YEAR. Participants were enthusiastic and
we are betting that NEXT YEAR there will
be thousands there. The crowd was sparse
this year, but the enthusiasm was high. We
met many new people and more people know
about us now!
September 26th we'll be
doing it again at the Progressive Fair
in Petaluma at Walnut Park. We hope you'll
come and visit, or volunteer. We really
need face painters and people who like
to guide art projects. We're doing the
same successful projects.
